That's what many young people and adults want - but how to go about it?  
Each player has particular needs.  These needs shift with musical and
technical advancement.  We're well aware of the time demands of the modern
world and make finding that great starter outfit easy by full descriptions on
our online shop.  We'll play any of these basic outfits for you over the

Beginning Outfits & Instruments - up to $800

Beginning players need an instrument that responds well, forgives minor
mistakes, has a pleasing and clear tone, and supports a reasonable dynamic
range.  These characteristics help give the beginner confidence and support
steady technical and musical advancement.  

Basic instruments are usually made in a production environment.  All our
basic instruments are carved by hand, rather than by machine.  Good design,
decent tonewood, and careful setup are crucial.  We make sure all our basic
instrument outfits are set up properly with a good quality bridge, quality basic
strings, and good playability.

We offer a few outfits for quite low prices.  These generally work well enough
to learn the basics, but may be outgrown relatively quickly.  Outfits in the
$500 last players much longer and prove a better choice for the committed
beginner

In addition to the basic violin, bow, and case you may need rosin, a shoulder
rest, and learning aids.  We like our "Play it right now" system of learning aids.
