Players are alway surprised at the easy response and clear tone of the basic violins from
Eastman Strings. These are properly constructed in the traditional manner, as are all
Eastman instruments. Relatively plain tonewood, basic high quality construction, and
simple outfits mark these instruments. The Samuel Eastman violins are a great place to
start for those on a tight budget.
The 100 Series offer an upgraded basic violin with flamed maple and amber varnish. Clear
and open sound that fits well into student orchestras
- All solid, completely hand carved tonewoods
- Lightly flamed maple back & sides
- Ebony fingerboard
- Glowing amber-brown varnish
- Lightly fluted F hole wings - a sign of good design and craftsmanship
- Nicely hand carved scroll
- Good quality ebony fittings, available with adjustable friction pegs
- Genuine hand-inlaid purfling
- Outfit includes K. Holtz fiberglass or BL20 wood bow and Protege shaped case
- Violins available 1/32 to 4/4, including 7/8 and 1/10
- Violas available from 11" to 16" in 1" increments, plus 15.5" and 16.5"
- Set up with fine rope-core steel strings (e.g., Helicore or Prim)
- Cello: 4/4 to 1/10, including 7/8
