Handcrafted true 5 string violin
(CGDAE), not a conversion. The
Calvert has a normal size body, but a
slightly wider neck and longer pegbox
to accommodate the 5th string. We've
set this fine spirit varnished instrument
up with warm D'Addario Helicore
strings for easy playing and full tone.
- Good tonewoods, with nicely
flamed maple
- Excellent design, with good
arching and edgework
- Quality boxwood fittings,
including 5 fine tuners
- Helicore strings
- Surprisingly easy playing, with
