Gianna's introduces the Draleon line of fine Gypsy style instruments
October 29, 1946. Django Reinhardt arrives in New York City to tour with the famed Ellington Orchestra. A gypsy, with no luggage. And no guitar. His beloved Selmer suddenly gives way to a powerful handcarved Gibson L-5 archtop. He tours with Ellington, returns to Europe with his archtop, and dies seven years later, still favoring the archtop punch.
Contemporary Gypsy Jazz players find themselves constantly torn between the original Selmer tone and the sophisticated punch of the modern archtop. Draleon bridges this gap with extraordinary Gypsy archtop guitars - and a fine Gypsy style mandolin.
