His beloved Selmer suddenly gives way to a powerful handcarved Gibson
L-5 archtop. He tours with Ellington, returns to Europe with his archtop,
and dies seven years later, still favoring the archtop punch.
Contemporary Gypsy Jazz players find themselves constantly torn between
the original Selmer tone and the sophisticated punch of the modern
archtop. Draleon bridges this gap with extraordinary Gypsy archtop guitars
