"I love this violin! The sound, the craftsmanship, the ease of play are awesome. It is a joy to play. I've only had it 3 days and I'm already seeing improvement in my playing. It is a beautiful violin in all ways and I fell in love with it immediately.
My teacher looked horrified last week when I told her I ordered a violin on the internet, especially because I am only 15 minutes away from hundreds of new and vintage violins sold in our local area. However, yesterday when I brought my new violin in for her to play and review she became very enthusiastic about it. This is a high compliment as my teacher has played in the most prestigious concert halls all over the world as a soloist.
I got so much more violin than I could ever afford anywhere else and think anyone looking for a fabulous instrument at a reasonable price should at least try Gianna Violins.
Steve Perry gave me hours of his time (for 2-3 days!) over the phone playing several instruments over and over again for me. I could make a distinction between the violins very clearly over the phone and kept going back to the one I chose, but they all sounded beautiful and full of volume. Steve, in my opinion, is a violin intuitive, and combined with his fine craftsmanship, he makes an incredible instrument at an affordable price. Steve and Gianna made my purchase a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
I am so glad I followed my instincts and purchased from Gianna. Thanks Steve and Gianna for my wonderful "Little River".

"We have had the violin package we purchased from you for over a month now. [name] really loves it. His teacher complimented on the quality of the violin and thought we paid much more for it, he was also impressed by the bow you selected for us."

"I was a little hesitant about purchasing through the internet, but in talking with you through e-mail and on the phone you were more help than the shops I visited in person! I was put at ease when I talked to one of the Eastman Co. representatives and he said that he knew you and you are very reputable."

"I am really impressed by your "customer service." I did quite a bit of research in selecting a violin and also who to purchase from. I had contacted several different people and companies before I chose to purchase through you. All of the others I contacted didn't show the personal touch that you did. They wouldn't or were very slow in returning e-mails, seemed to be annoyed when I asked a lot of questions, and didn't seem very personable at all. It really worked out perfect that you were going to Eastman and picked this violin for us."
|
"From the first e-mail I sent you your response was very quick, you always answered my questions quickly and helped me choose a violin package that was exactly what I was looking for."
|
"Thank you again for making this purchase a pleasant one. Feel free to give my e mail address to anyone that requests a reference from you.
If we ever upgrade or know of someone looking to purchase, I wont need to do weeks of research again, I'll just need to call you."

“I am the head of Information Systems for a large company. It's my job to understand how our systems work at the most atomic level. If you don't master the details in this job they soon master you. It wasn't long after I picked up my first violin that I realized that there was equally as much detail here to learn. I suppose there are two ways to go about purchasing violins. You keep buying them until you get it right and find one that suits your ear. Or you find someone who has mastered those details to lead the way."

"When you buy a Gianna Violin the hands and the intellect that made it come with it. Ask him what strings it likes. Ask him how he made the bridge and why. Ask him anything at all about that violin. He will know. My Gianna 200 is my pride and joy. It holds its own with $5000 - $6000 violins. Another BAVS member who purchased its twin from Steve brought hers to a very reputable violin shop, played fiddles in that range, left them there, and walked away again with hers.
What does my 200 sound like? I won't even attempt to describe it. Better I should tell you that I've lost all interest in looking for a violin that sounds better than this. Would another violin sound 10% better? Maybe. Would that be worth $10,000 more?
In a long career in Information Systems Ive worked with and hired many highly skilled people. Inevitably, however, there are only a nery few that stand out from the rest. Steve Perry is a person who does . . . . Good luck if you hope to find someone out there at random who will be more helpful, honest, and committed to his customers than him . . . . One thing I know for sure. It's not my violin holding me back. And I've never been without an answer to any question I've ever had to ask.
What's it like to buy a violin from Steve Perry? He would never have asked me to answer that publicly. Not in a million years. But I'm going to tell you anyway because when you find someone as willing to take a beginner's hand as he is then this is something everyone should know. I've purchased a lot of things in my lifetime and regretted many along the way. But when it comes to buying your first good violin, I can assure you that it just doesn't get any better than Steve Perry and Gianna Violins.

“Steve! I think that you must have put in an electric pick up in the violin or maybe an amplifier tucked away in it, man it makes some deep music! Sounds like old man river, it lives, moves and has soul! Obviously it just arrived (in fine shape) and is settling in to it's tuning... imagine, pegs that work with out fine tuners! Too, cool! The finish is beautiful, the back shimmers like it's 3-D or tigers eye gem stone, all I can say is wow, wow, wow!"
Thanks, Craig

“I'd recommend anyone looking at instruments to look at Steve's violins. The one he sent me is an amazing value for the money. It's not a perfect violin. Like Steve says, there's no such thing as a perfect violin. But I decided that I'd as soon live with its flaws as I would flaws I heard in violins that I tried playing in the up to $12,000 price range. In other words, if I had to pick, I'd as soon picked Steve's violin as a few of the others and would have picked Steve's violin over almost all of them. And all of the ones that seemed roughly equivalent to me were between 2x and almost 5x the price of the one I wound up buying from Steve. The only violin I've played so far that was without *obvious* flaws (although I could have wished for a slightly richer/rounder tone) was a $22K Italian. And at that price, it didn't even tempt me.”

"In the ~$1500-<$3500 range, I'd go with someone who works like Steve does . . . . My personal opinion . . . is that Steve's turn out better to much better than the Cao's or Doestch's on the average. I suspect any of Steve's hand-tuned violins or Gianna's choice violins would make a heck of a step-up instrument.”

"I am a student violin player, and since I have gotten my Appalachian I have found its sweet sound making me eager to practice. It is so easy to play that I have been able to make a lot of progress, now I am no longer fighting my instrument. The violin sounds almost equal to my teacher's $10,000 fiddle, I would say the $10,000 instrument is only 5% better than mine. I worried about buying an instrument over the Internet, but my Gianna Appalachian is so superior to any other violin I tried while shopping around my area that I think anyone who orders one over the Internet can count on getting a great fiddle. Thanks again for my lovely violin!" MG
