We Ship: Freight On Board, Our Place of Business
We sell via shipment contract.  This means that our responsibility for anything we sell stops when delivered to a common
carrier.  The customer is responsible for shipping, insurance, and all other expenses.  We arrange shipping as a
courtesy for the customer.  If something happens to the shipment, settlement of the matter is between the customer and
the carrier.  We will cooperate to the best of our ability.

We do not assume responsibility for items shipped to us for inspection or repair until they arrive in our shop.  Any
problems during shipping remain with the customer and are between the customer and the carrier.

Packing
We pack things very well.  Violins and mandolins are shipped in custom made double-walled boxes.  Violins shipped
without cases are double boxed.  Delicate ancient instruments may get damaged in shipping regardless of packing.  This
hasn't happened here, but we understand it sometimes does.  New healthy violins do very well during shipping.  Unless
we demonstrably packed something badly, any
damage claims are between the customer and the carrier. (scroll
down for damage claim instructions).

Delivery
Orders are typically processed and shipped in 1 to 3 business days (in stock items only).  We do not ship on Saturdays,
Sundays or US holidays.

We usually have the items on our web site in stock.  Sometimes we run out of popular items.  If these are commercial
items we can generally obtain them in about 1-2 weeks.  Specific models of our Gianna line of violins and violas may run
out.  These are produced in small lots, thus an out of stock model may take up to two months to restock.  Custom items
will take extra time depending on exactly what is required.  We suggest contacting us via telephone [(865) 986-9966] or
email to confirm availability of specific violins or models.

Use of E-mail:
Order Confirmation:  an email will be sent to you containing an invoice attachment to assure accuracy of your order
and shipping information.  If you do not receive this email within 1-2 business days, please
contact us to request a re-
send.
In some cases, we will not ship your item till the order is confirmed by you.

Shipping Confirmation:  When your item is shipped an email is sent containing the shippers tracking number and
the carrier used.

Shipments valued over $500 will require a signature upon delivery by FedEx,  unless the customer waives this step and
assumes all risks .  This means that the driver will not leave the package without obtaining a signature by someone at
the destination address.  This is to ensure the safety of your item.   Any address change after the item has been
shipped, the customer will be charged a $10 "change of address" fee.  This is a FedEx charge.

General Shipping Policies
Shipping & handling rates only cover expenses associated with shipping.  Gianna Violins does not use shipping fees for
profit.

Gianna Violins uses the following carriers:  Fed/Ex Ground or US Postal Service.  Upon request, we can ship DHL or UPS
(additional fees by these carriers will apply on an individual basis).

Ground service typically takes 2 to 10 days depending on destination and shipment method.

FedEx Ground requires a physical street address for delivery.  We are not responsible for delays or additional shipping
charges resulting from an incorrect address provided by the customer.

Shipping outside the lower 48 states is by usually via USPS.  Please
contact us for a courtesy quote.

APO/FPO Addresses
APO/FPO addresses are considered domestic and such shipments must use the US Postal Service. Some oversized
items cannot be delivered to APO and FPO addresses because of Postal Service size restrictions.  Additional shipping
charges may apply depending on the destination.

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, & US Virgin Islands
Shipments to these locations is typically via the least expensive method.   Additional charges may apply depending on
size, shipping method, and carrier.  If we feel the shipping charges are excessive, we will contact you prior to shipping
the item.

International
International orders include any order with a billing or shipping address outside the 50 United States.

We require prepayment in US funds, preferably via wire transfer.

International orders are shipped USPS (Priority or Express).   International orders take additional process time.  Rates
are provided by courtesy quote, actual rate may differ slightly.   In the alternative, International customers may provide
their FedEx, UPS, or other courier account number for direct billing to their account.

Additional handling charges, higher shipping rates, and applicable customs, duties, and taxes if applicable remain the
customer’s responsibility.

Complete, accurate shipping addresses are the responsibility of the customer.  Any additional fees for
returned/redirected shipments remains the responsibility of the customer.

Customs
We MUST comply with the law.  All international orders will be declared  “merchandise” and the value of merchandise will
be declared as the amount paid.  No exceptions.  We MUST list the contents of all international packages and the exact
total value of your shipment, even if the order is a gift.

The customer is the importer of record in the receiving country and must comply with all local laws.

Orders received outside the United States may be subject to customs fees, GST taxes, import duties, value-added taxes
or other applicable import charges imposed by the destination country.  The exact policies and laws will vary among
countries.  The receiving country may levy charges.  These are the customers responsibility; Gianna Violins has no
control over these charges and is not responsible for reimbursement.  Contact local customs officials to determine the
exact charges applicable.  Gianna Violins reserves the right to not refund shipments refused by a customer because of
these charges.

Backorders
In most cases, we will not make any charges to your credit card until the item arrives in our shop.  If the item is unusually
late in arriving, we will notify you of having received it before completing your order and charging your credit card.  If we
take a deposit for future delivery or otherwise backorder items we will notify the customer prior to placing final charges
on a credit card and shipping the order.

Delivery Refused
We charge a 15% restock fee when a common carrier returns an item because it was refused or undeliverable. If we
paid for the shipping, shipping fees and any tariffs or duties will be charged.

Shipping, handling and insurance costs are non refundable.

Taxes
We MUST under Tennessee law add sales tax (9.25%) to all taxable items taking possession in Tennessee.  Sales tax
does not apply (yet) to items shipped to destinations outside Tennessee.  Tax exempt organizations can apply for tax-
exempt status with us.
