How to Ship to Gianna
How to pack:
1.  Pad the instrument inside its case so that it does not move around.  You may also loosen the strings to relieve any tension.
Gianna begins by using wax paper to protect the varnish, then places paper on either side of the bridge (to support it and
prevent shifting) and some bubble wrap beneath the tailpiece (be sure you have wax paper between padding and violin!).
Then, close up the case.   Gianna says if the instrument passes a vigorous shake test (within its case) it's ready to box up.

2.  Place the case inside a box that will allow for 3" of cushioning around it on all sides (we use: 34 x 14 x 8).  We recommend
a double wall box for its added strength.  Gianna then uses either wadded newspaper, bubble wrap, styrofoam peanuts, air
pillows, or shredded paper to fill all voids around the case.

3.  Place "Fragile" stickers on the outside of your box.   Our shipping address is:

Gianna Violins - Repairs    (or specify the service that's being requested, i.e.: "Returns", "Trades", etc.)
10091 Unitia Rd.
Friendsville, TN 37737

What To Enclose:****
Write on a sheet of paper the following information:
1.  Your first and last name, mailing and billing address, daytime phone number, email address.
2.  A brief note telling us what we are doing with the instrument (trade, repair, evaluation, consignment).
3.  Repairs, please list what you'd like to have done.

Carriers:
1.  United States Postal Service will probably be the most convenient.  Be sure to add insurance for the full value of what
you're sending to us.

2.  Fed/Ex ground is Giannas' preferred carrier.  Kinko's is now owned by Fed/Ex which may make shipping with them more
convenient.  Again, be sure to declare the full value of your instrument.

3.  Keep copies of everything.  Letter, shipping documents, tracking numbers.

4.  If you don't hear from Gianna Violins within a reasonable amount of time, please contact us.

Steve or Gianna will contact you when the instrument arrives to discuss your needs.  There's no need to spend extra $$ for
signature delivery, return receipt, or guaranteed delivery.

Unclaimed Items
We do our very best to offer the best service possible to everyone. Our shop receives hundreds of emails and calls per week.
Please do not count on one conversation or email
(relevant to an instrument arriving weeks later) being remembered.

Items arriving without any contact information are held for six months.  If the item is not claimed within that period of time, it will
be considered "abandoned" and placed in inventory.

**** Emails do not count.  You must enclose a sheet of paper containing contact information.
Gianna Violins receives hundreds of emails a week, we can not be expected to track down your information after a "mystery
instrument" arrives.
