| At Gianna's we love more than just music. We love our hounds! Meet Elvis & Jazz, both certified therapy dogs and welcome additions to the Gianna family. Elvis is a Lemon Treeing Walker Coonhound (b. 6-2003). Adopted from the local Humane Society in 2003 at 8 weeks. He and his littermates were "owner surrendered" Coonhound mixes. His siblings solid brown coloring suggest mixed breeding, but we see no evidence in Elvis. Elvis thoroughly enjoys meeting other people, dogs and going to new places. He shows an amazing amount of patience with everyone he meets. He has yet to be intimidated, frightened or annoyed by inappropriate handling. Due to his excessive size, he rarely comes to the shop. Elvis is a current member of the local HABIT program providing animal assisted therapy (AAT) and animal assisted activities (AAA) in the East Tennessee Region. Gianna is currently unable to take him on visits due to hand ailments, surgery and Elvis' "special" size of 130 pounds. |

| Jazz is a unique combination of Sheltland Sheepdog and Dachshund (b. 6-2006). She was an abandonment near the Gianna shop. At 19 pounds, she is the lap dog that Elvis has always wanted to be! Jazz adores most people, though she can be shy at first. She has already shown great aptitude for therapy work and is active in the HABIT program, visiting two facilities a week. She is currently training for national certification in the field of animal assisted therapy (AAT). Jazz can be found at Gianna's most days, as long as Gianna is there. The two are rather inseparable! Jazz's Blog: tnjazz.blogspot.com Jazz-o-Grams about her, sections on training and canine health. Plus, some great links to canine associated sites. |
