We usually stock violin bows, ordering in viola, cello, and bass bows (usually with an additional
discount). Often we can have these drop shipped. Please contact us for prices on any

Our descriptions list weight, balance ahead of frog in mm, balance from stick end in inches, and
stiffness. Stiffness is in thousandths of an inch deflection:
260 to 310: Stiff orchestral bows
310 to 340: Highly versatile for solo playing
330 to 380: Forgiving advanced students and amateurs, for relaxed players
380 to 420: Intermediate student bows, easy to play undemanding music, forgiving.
420 to 450: Playable by a beginner or very sensitive players.
Over 450: Often too soft, but some surprisingly good with a delicate touch.
